Annie Rose Market Day November 2009
Annie Rose hosted its first annual Market Day on Saturday November 28th. Thank you to those who supported and helped on the day. There was a wonderful array of New Zealand hand made fused glass and glass beads, jewellery, blown glass goblets, vases and bottles, and silver clay pendants, rings, chains, jewellery making components and even a delicious hand made chocolate stall and a favourite with everyone - a temporary tattoo stall. We hope to see our annual Market Day get bigger and better every year, so keep it in mind for November 2010 - a great way to get gifts out there for the Christmas shoppers.
Congratulations to Aaron Nixon-Mead and Greer Scott who both guessed that there were 100 beads in the bead jar. Greer received a voucher for a glass bead making workshop and Aaron a voucher for a glass fusing workshop.
An open torch was available in the Annie Rose studio so that experienced bead makers could make beads to donate to the Beads of Courage Child Cancer Foundation. A big thank you to all those who participated in this very worthy program.

SUPPLIES - New Stock Arrivals
The Effetre glass container has arrived. We hope it will be here for the new year. Included is 591204 6mm pastel white, 591006 - the new Effetre crystal clear, a small sample of a new rod colour, transparent olive green, new millefiori designs, gold aventurine filligrana stringers and new colours in plate glass - ivory, violet.
Also in store the popular Gaffer rods GAF109 Chalcedony and GAF1095 Chalcedony blue -
G-1095 is a new version of G-109 with a colour-shift towards the cool blue-green end of the spectrum. It looks to be a very exciting new colour which our supplier tells us everyone will be able to get it to work without it reverting to the overstruck characteristic tan colour.
Gaffer Opal Chalcedony (GAF109) and Chameleon (GAF138) also now in stock - this is sold in multiples of 100gms, or 250gms. The GAF109 rods are approximately 3mm x 47cm long and you would get around 10 canes in 100gms. The GAF138 are more variable from thin stringer size to 6mm.
