Beginner Glass Bead Making Workshops 
Introduction to Glass Bead Making: Part One
 
Learn how to use Italian Glass rods and using a glass torch to create beautiful glass beads.  Using transparent and opaque coloured glass you will uncover your creative side whilst having a great time. You will be able to make about 6-10 original glass beads in this 3 hour workshop. Beads will be ‘annealed’ overnight for cleaning and collection the next day.   3-8 students in this class.

Introduction to Glass Bead Making: Part Two

Once you’ve done Part One—Introduction to Glass Bead Making, this is the next step.  Learn more techniques, gain more confidence and experience on the torch and have fun.  Once you have completed this workshop you are set to go solo and rent studio space at your leisure or make the most from a beginners weekend workshop.

Door knobs and drawer pulls—a fun, funky way to personalise your home.  Imagine colourful, stylish designs handmade by you out of Italian glass on your doors and drawers. 

Bring your favorite tools and your own flame working glasses.   1 hour for lunch - bring your own lunch and drink bottle or purchase from one of the local cafes.  Advanced Beginner level.

Murrini Plate Workshop

6 hours of torch time learning and making simple Bullseye murrinis and using them in the design of a fused  and slumped small platter or dinner plate.
Intermediate level torch work required (no prior fusing experience necessary).

Glass Bead Making Studio Rental
 $20 Per Hour

The perfect way to get more torch experience after attending one of our glass bead making classes.  Studio rental includes use of  Carlisle mini CC torch, basic tools, flame working glasses and dipped mandrels.  Larger torch (Wildcat) available @ $25p/hr.  Frequent user card available for multiple use.

Glass Beadmaking Private Tuition
$80 per hour

 If you’ve always wanted to give it a go but at a time to suit you AND have the benefit of one on one tuition, this could be the answer for you.  Beginners to advanced level.
All materials provided.  Work at your own pace in a friendly and fun atmosphere.

International Glass Artist—Workshop One

Intermediate Two Day Workshop
Dates: Thurs 20 & Fri 21 May 2010 Cost: $975 excl for the two full days
Day 1  – In day one of the workshop you will be focussing on the amazing effects that Sarah gets from her glass.   Focussing on the reactive colours within the 104 palette you  will  cover  an  introduction to colour reactions creating a series of beads including: Reactive rounds, Glass tie-dye effects, Sarah’s signature flower power beads

Day 2  – On the second day you really get to free your mind and creative juices in the Freestyle focal fun session. On this day you  will learn how to make: Streaky swirly beads, Liquid beads and the amazing  Wig  Wag  stringer  effects  ending  the  day  with Faux-Retticello beads.

Intermediate/Advanced Two Day Workshop
Dates: Sat 22 & Sun 23 May 2010  Cost: $975 excl for the two full days
Day 1 – In day one of the workshop you will be focussing on the amazing effects that  Sarah gets from the use of silver. Focussing on the reactiveness of silver and the 104 palette you will learn how to make Sarah’s signature style beads including: Organics with a twist, Space and Beyond (Kronos silvered glass and Raku) and also Magical beach beads

Day 2 – On the second day you will get to use reactive frits and frufru as well as the use of Gold leaf, Dichro and Paladium. Gravity is our friend on this day as we use it to create shapes and styles including  Sarah’s famous silk beads

Space is limited and filling fast. Deposit required to secure your place.

May 18 (Tuesday): 10am-3pm, $150 plus supply pack.  Curved  Beads
Tutor: Judith Sleavin (Torch Studio).  In this totally awesome class, venture out of your comfort zone and learn how to create a venetian glass curved bead.

May 19 (Wednesday): 10am-12pm, Silver Clay workshop, $95
Tutor: Jenny Crundwell (Fusing Studio). 

May 19 (Wednesday): “Just the Knob For You”.  Funky door knobs and drawer pulls.  Tutor: Vicki Leismann (Torch Studio)

May 20 (Thursday) 10am-5pm Silver Clay & Wire Work
Make a silver clay piece and incorporate it into a piece of jewellery.  Learn how to make your own clasps and other wire work  to create your final piece.  Cost to be advised.  
 
May 20-22 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday): Bullseye Fusing/Slumping Plates with torch elements $295
